Teslin River Canoe Adventure - 11 Days
The Teslin River offers an easy canoe trip well suited for paddling beginners. This remote wilderness river offers beautiful camp spots and wonderful fishing opportunities. And with some luck we will be able to see some of the larger wildlife species like moose, caribou, black and grizzly bear, lynx and wolverine.
On the first day your guide will introduce you to basic canoe techniques to ensure a safe and pleasant trip and we will also show you all the tricks for a comfortable stay at camp for the nights.
A river trip on the Teslin River follows one of the routes used by prospectors during the gold rush of 1898 on their way to the goldfields of the Klondike near Dawson City. We will start our tour at Johnson’s Crossing and explore the water way of the Teslin River until we reach the historic and now abandoned settlement of Hootalinqua. This is were Teslin and Yukon River join and from here on we will travel for another 3 days on the Yukon River until we reach our final destination – the Village of Carmacks.
